Recap of Spring Break

It was soo freakin' awesome to be able to see friends and family down in SoCal. It was kinda sad having to leave everyone behind. A week just didn't seem to be long enough. Sigh. So here is a recap of how everything went down.

Saturday I drove all the way and we left SF at 330ish, got into Bloomington a sometime after ten. I think that's the fastest we've ever gotten down there. I think it's because I packed us sandwiches and snacks and tons of water so we wouldn't have to buy anything on the way. And then....it was drinking time with Kathy, Dan and Eddie. sniff. According to Kathy I got so drunk that night. She had to tell me the next day stuff i'd said or done. Apparently I suck at playing speed when I'm intoxicated. HA!! oh..sadly Amanda didn't make it that night. SO SAD!!

Sunday: (Dang, I hope I write down everything under the right dates, this is what I get for not doing this last Monday.) Sunday we called everyone we knew but no one was available. They were either at work, asleep, or had homework. Yuck. What's up with that. So, Matt and I headed out to get the splattered bugs off his car along with running other errands. How funny that he had errands to run in southern calif. Then we headed out to...THE MILLS!!!! (Ontario Mills, the mall, for those that may not know.) I was like in Mall heaven. I mean, we have the San Francisco Shopping Center, but it's not that big. And union square is fun too. But then again, most of the stores in union square are places that sell a pair of pants for like $200. (Saks, Armani..etc.) But the mills....oooh...all the discounted prices. *toothy smile*

While Matt scouted out the games at EB, Kathy ended up meeting us there. I had tons of fun just walking around and chatting with two of my favorite people in the entire world. I should post pictures of us pretending to be in our living rooms at World Market. Oh and MATT found some shoes for me at the vans store. HE PICKED THE SHOES I BOUGHT!!!

After the mall and some yummy rubio's, the three of us headed out to Eddie and Amanda's. For guess what....DRINKS!! I had a good laugh as to why Eddie has to drive like an hour just to rent movies. Tried some raspberry something apple schnapps. Not bad. I'll take a bottle of that stuff. Chatted it up with Amanda and Kathy. Amanda made Kathy and I want to take random trips out to drifferent states with her cool photo albums.

After that, all I'll say was that I got too tipsy off of TWO drinks...embarrasing. But fun times. Fun times.

Monday-Wednesday: Monday we woke up late after two nights in a row of drinking and staying up 'til 4am. We headed out to Matt's grandpa's house at about 2pm. Once we got there, we got to hang out with Matt's grandpa while Matt and his car got spoiled. (washed, backlights changed, oil filter cleaned, etc.) Once his grandma got home, we had a late dinner of yummy in-and-out. Mmmm.

It's funny, I haven't been a big fan of hamburgers for a while, but during our vacation, I had TWO hamburgers. I actually enjoyed them. But then again, in-n-out burgers are the best ever.

Tuesday, since his grandparents were at work, we headed out to huntington beach for a bit. Had some coffee at starbucks and I got my fix of boggle. I LOVE LOVE LOVE that game. It's right up there with scrabble for me. Afterwards we walked around to enjoy the scenery. Too bad we forgot our camera. =( We are soooo bad at taking pictures.

On our way back to the house, we stopped at TARGET!! Oh i was like a kid in a candy store. I LOVE target and walmart. Ok, anyways. When we got back to the house, I made us some chicken sandwiches and we all just watched tv.

That night we also started grading some of Matt's never ending pile of papers. (Somehow I ended up grading TONS and TONS of stuff for him AND I even put what felt like 1,000 grades in his computer.)

Wednesday we just hung out with Matt's grandpa some more and then headed back to Dan's house that night. If I'm not mistaken, I believe that night we went to smoke some hoookah (peach and apple. peach is my fav.) Kathy, Dan and Eddie joined us that night. While the boys endlessly talked about beepers and played yahtzee, Kathy and I chatted it up about anything and everything. Oh yes, we also had some yummy Sahlab. (I'm not sure if that's spelled right.)

(oh no, my memory is starting to fade.)

Thursday: Matt and I had a lunch date with Dan and this quirky lookin' pizza shop by his work. Afterwards, we went to harrass Kathy. I ended up hanging out with Jackie's baby Lily the most that day i think.

(sorry if i freaked you out Kat.)

I was so happy because I made everyone go to the park so we could take Lily AND she got to be in swing for the first time. She's just a cutie petutie.

I believe later that night, Kathy headed out with us to Dan's house where we watched Underworld and played clue and some card games. (of course I passed out before the movie was even over. I'm notorious for doing that. But hey, we'd been staying up till 4am everyday!)
*********

Friday: We finally got a goodnights sleep and Matt and I went our seperate ways for a while. I ended up just chatting, watching tv with Kathy, Jackie and of course, Lily. We had some yummy lunch at Denny's, where Kathy and I played some SLOW. (aka: speed) When we went back to her house, Jackie's friend came over and we all played a good game of cranium. Sadly, Kathy and I lost. Maybe it has to do with the fact that we're not to eager to act out in public. Hmm.

As for the nights events, it included a good crowd of friends, some drinks and a nice little bar called the Royal Falconer out in Riverside. Midori sours were my friend that night.

Saturday: After saying our goodbye's to Dan and his family, Matt and I headed out to his mom's. I was really happy that we were able to see his younger sister Jolene. (For a minute there we weren't sure if we were going to be able to see her. I always have the best of times with his sisters..and family.)

So it was Jolene and her boyfriend and Matt and myself. Matt's mom made us the cutest little candy filled easter baskets with our names on them. Aww. Meanwhile his mom was getting dinner together. Which was delish by the way. We had a chill sort of day. Watched titanic. Sniff. Hadn't seen that movie in such a long time. I still love that movie. I don't care how cheesy anyone thinks it is. Later that evening, we got to watch Matt's mom play spyro. (HOW COOL!! that his mom plays spyro..shy was TOTALLY into it too. Too cute.) We then ended the night by playing some Gin Rummy with these sweet ass invisa cards. Aka, invisable playing cards.

It was really sad having to say our goodbyes to his mom and sister, especially since we spent the least amount of time with them. Sigh.

So Matt drove us to my dear friend Kathy's house so we could say goodbye. Since we were too drunk to do so the night before..sad. Hee. But fun. Ok. Sorry. Anyways. We were only there for about 45 minutes. But it was simply nice to be able to see her one last time. Then it was off to Matts Dzia Dzia's house (Polish for grandpa) for a good nights rest. Before we were off on Sunday, we had a beautiful lunch with his grandparents and off we were back home. =(

The journey home was trafficy and we had to finish grading Matt's students' work, but we were happy we had such a great time with friends and family in SoCal.

WE MISS YOU GUYS!!!

p.s. Hope this post didn't bore anyone to sleep. ;)
